From Bled Castle you can spy the island in the middle of the lake and of course visiting it by pletna could be a highlight of any trip. Have a romantic dinner at a lakeside restaurant or perhaps a horse carriage ride. Weddings are also very popular here!

You can walk, ride or take the tourist train around the lake. Climb the surrounding hills for excellent lookouts.

Bled has a mild, healthy sub-Alpine climate with the longest swimming season of any Alpine resort. The ridges of the Julian Alps and the Karavanke protect the town from the chilly northern winds. During the summer months there is no fog. The average monthly temperature in July is about 18.7°C.

Insurance
The Organizers of the Conference do not provide insurance and do not take responsibility for any loss, accident or illness that might occur during the Conference or in the course of travel to or from the meeting site. It is, therefore, the responsibility of the participants to check their coverage with their insurance provider.

Bank, Currency, Credit Cards
The currency in Slovenia is Euro (EUR). International credit cards (EC/MC, Visa) are accepted at the majority of the hotels, restaurants and shops. AMEX is rarely accepted by retailers. ATMs are available at the Airport and all over the cities.
Banking hours are usually from 9:00 until 17:00 from Monday to Fridays, but some banks close their offices at noon for one hour.

Voltage
The electricity supply in Slovenia is 230 V AC (50 Hz). In Slovenia type „F” plugs are used.

Security
Slovenia is one of the safest places to visit. However, in some areas (especially close to tourist attractions or on public transport) you should be aware of your belongings.

Tap water
The drinking water in Slovenia is safe to drink, and its quality is excellent.

First Aid, Emergency and Insurance
As with other EU member states, all emergency services can be reached by dialing “112”. Slovenia also bears with the internal number “113” for calling the police.
